Long and boring rambling about Girl Scout events.
I went to a Girl Scout event today, and it went moderately okay, I guess.
When I got there, I was greeted with a hug from my friend because I’d been absent from school today, which was nice. :) But then I came to the realization that I was the only one wearing pants, and not a dress like the other four. Cue instant self-conciousness. But it wasn’t too bad, because the last girl in my troop to show up(about five minutes later) was wearing pants as well, so that calmed me down a bit. When I had to go on stage to get a flower and my picture taken by the audience, I was obviously really nervous, scared and self-conscious, but luckily I was able to think of something funny to do. Since I was wearing pants, I decided that a curtsy(however it’s spelled) would be funny to do, and it was. But after the awards finished, we were allowed to go on stage and have our pictures taken again. This seemed like it could be fun at first, so my troop got on the line to get them taken. Thanks to the big-ass group of girls on stage taking about 7 pictures per girl, one girl at a time, my troop, me, and this other troop were waiting for probably 10 or so minutes. Needless to say, I was being very awkward and silent and wishing I could just go home already, but thankfully I was able to start talking to my best friend and a few of the girls about some camp thing before we got on stage, had our picture taken, and I was able to get in my mom’s car and go home.
All in all, it wasn’t too terrible, and was somewhat enjoyable. :)
